Valuation of real estate for litigated matters demands extraordinary performance. Not only must an appraiser prepare a well-supported, clearly communicated, and unbiased appraisal, but they must also be prepared to defend the appraisal under deposition and cross examination. A keen knowledge of appraisal practices, procedures, and regulations is required. Thorough research efforts and careful data selection are crucial to producing reliable appraisal results as well. We have full access to pertinent industry data sources such as CoStar, Loopnet, and CRMLS, and we glean additional insight from interviews with agents and other market participants during the data verification process. 

 

Wingerd Appraisals is a small firm that emphasizes quality, with close attention to detail given to each and every assignment. All work is completed by the two principal appraisers, working collaboratively. We provide regular status updates throughout the appraisal process and complete all assignments by or before the agreed upon delivery date. Appraisal results can be communicated in either a narrative Appraisal Report format, or orally with a supportive file memorandum retained in our files. In addition to developing an unbiased opinion of value, we can provide counsel with litigation support by assessing the reasonableness of opposing appraisals.

Expert witness services that require in-person court testimony are provided primarily in Orange County courts (remote testimony via Zoom is conducted for U.S. Bankruptcy Court and may be offered for cases being tried elsewhere).
